EVGA is a Brea, Calif.-based computer product manufacturer. EVGA primarily produce graphics cards using NVIDIA technology, but also produce Intel motherboards and some other technologies. The EVGA 7600 GT was originally released in the $200-250 price bracket of graphics card and was released with options of 256MB or 512MB of RAM. Upgrading a computer will help meet the demands of modern software and computer games. Installing a new graphics card is one of the simplest and best ways to upgrade your computer if you play a lot of games, or deal with graphics intensive software such as Adobe Illustrator or Adobe Photoshop. Installing a new graphics card is almost a universal process, as identified in EVGA's all-encompassing "Graphics Card Manual."
Instructions
1. Click "Start" and "Control Panel" and then click "Add / Remove Programs" or "Programs and Features" (if you are a Windows Vista or later user). Locate the name of your old graphics card maker, click the program and click "Remove." Follow the onscreen instructions, and then shut down your computer.
2. Unplug all cables from the back of your computer.
3. Unscrew the two screws on the right-side panel (when looking at your computer from the rear) with your Philips screwdriver. Slide off the panel.
4. Unscrew the screw attaching your graphics card to the back of your computer. Your graphics card will be the top card connected in the bottom left of your motherboard.
5. Push the lever to the right of the graphics card and then pull it out.
6. Slot your new EVGA 7600 GT into the slot allocated to your old graphics card. Reattach the screw connecting it to the back panel. Reattach the side panel of your computer, and re-screw the screws. Plug all cables back in and turn on your computer.
7. Insert the "Software and Drivers" CD that came bundled with your graphics card into the disc drive. Follow onscreen installation instructions and restart your computer when prompted.
