Set the Equalizer in Windows Media Player
The graphic equalizer in Windows Media Player is not prominently placed. It might be difficult to find at first, but once located is a versatile way to enhance your audio playback experience. The graphic equalizer in Windows Media Player has numerous preset positions designed for various musical styles but can also be set in a custom formation.
Instructions
1. Launch graphic equalizer. Click on the arrow under the "Now Playing" tab, point to "Enhancements" in the drop-down menu and click on "graphic equalizer." This will launch the Windows Media Player graphic equalizer in the lower part of the screen.
2. Activate graphic equalizer (if necessary) by clicking "Turn on." If your graphic equalizer has never been used, it may be turned off. If so, a link reading "Turn on" will be present in the upper left of the graphic equalizer. If the link reads "Turn off" your graphic equalizer is already active and ready to set.
3. Explore custom presets. Click the right-most link on the graphic equalizer above the sliders (not the sliders themselves). This might read "Custom" or the style of music that's currently selected. When you click, a menu will appear with a list of presets based on musical styles that you can explore for your preferences.
4. Customize the setting. Select from the three radio buttons to the left of the sliders to control one slider at a time or move them in a group. Adjust the sliders according to your taste.
