Components Of The Ecs K7s5a Motherboard

The K7S5A comes with space for expansion.

The ECS K7S5A motherboard was released in 2003. It was designed in the popular ATX format that fits most cases. Designed for AMD Athlon and Duron processors and built with on-board sound, network and modem, this motherboard needs only a video card, processor and memory.

Processor

AMD Athlon, Athlon XP and Duron processors running at 200 or 266 MHz front-side bus speeds are compatible with the ECS K7S5A motherboard. The processor is automatically configured with the system board's firmware.

Memory

This motherboard is capable of running either 168-pin SDRAM modules or 184-pin DDR modules. There are two slots for either memory type. Only one memory type can be used at once. The maximum allowable memory is 1GB.

Expansion

With five PCI slots, an AGP 4x slot and an AMR slot for an audio sound card, this motherboard has plenty of room for expansion. The PCI slots handle most cards that you may want to add to your system while the AGP slot handles the video card.

Extras

The ECS K7S5A motherboard comes with several other components as well. It has a built-in sound card compliant with AC97 2.2 specifications. Also included is a built-in LAN Ethernet adapter, capable of reaching up to 100 megabits per second. It comes with two IDE ports and a floppy disk port for installing drives. On the back panel you have a parallel port, two serial ports, two USB ports, two PS/2 ports (for mouse and keyboard), microphone plug, line-in plug and a line-out plug.
