Connect The Led Switch To A Msi K9a2 Cf Motherboard

Connecting the front panel to the motherboard increases productivity.

Connect the LED switch and other front panel connections to the MSI K9A2 series of motherboard to keep the controls within easy reach. With the K9A2 series of MSI motherboards, power LED and hard drive LED lights are supported along with the reset switch, power switch, front panel audio and front-panel USB connectors. Standard or custom case connections can be used with the pin header section of the main board.

Instructions

1. Power down the computer and attach an anti-static strap to a bare metal part of the case and to your wrist.

2. Open the case and locate the pin header row for the front-panel connections near the front panel on the lower edge of the motherboard.

3. Connect the LED/power switch four-pin connector to the four pins on the lower (even) row of the JFP1 connector. The JFP1 connector has nine pins with the odd row on top with five connectors and the even row on the bottom with four connectors and a pin missing that would be Pin 10. Pins 2 and 4 are used for the power LED if using a two-pin power LED connector or a four-pin combination power LED/power switch connector, and Pins 6 and 8 are used for the power switch.

4. Attach the HDD LED and the reset switch lead to the top row using Pins 1 and 3 for the HDD LED and Pins 5 and 7 for the reset switch.

5. Connect the speaker to the four pins on the bottom row of the JFP2 connector and connect the power LED lead to the three pins on the top row of the JFP2 connector if using a three-pin power LED lead.
