Find Out What Kind Of Bios I Have

Bios information can be accessed easily.

A Basic Input/Output System (BIOS) is a program that helps start your computer's operating system. Your computer periodically will update the BIOS automatically. You can determine the version of your computer's BIOS easily.

Reasons for Updating

It is beneficial to have the most up-to-date BIOS to ensure that your computer is running at an optimal speed. BIOS upgrades also help eliminate or improve performance errors, such as over-heating.

Warnings

Never shut down your computer during the middle of a BIOS update. If your BIOS update is not completed properly, your computer may be unable to load or function. If using a laptop, plug in your charger to an outlet to ensure that your laptop's battery does not die during an upgrade.

Check BIOS Version

Press your "Start" icon. Type in "msinfo32" into the "search programs and files" section in the bottom of your start menu and press "Enter". A system information window will open. The BIOS information will be located in the "Value" column on the right side.
