Overclock Asus P5ld2 Se Motherboards

Overclocking is a cheap but risky way to make the CPU run faster than its factory-set speed. It costs nothing but the time taken to change settings on the motherboard, but it can result in a non-functional computer if something goes wrong. Asus is a highly regarded maker of motherboards among enthusiasts because it includes features that put overclocking within reach of most users.

Instructions

1. Reboot the computer, or turn it on. During the POST (Power On Self Test) enter the BIOS (Basic Input/Output System) by pressing the "Del" key.

2. Select the "Advanced" menu by pressing the "right arrow" key. Select "JumperFree Configuration" by pressing the "down arrow" key to highlight the menu option, and press "Enter" to open it.

3. Select "Overclock Profile" by pressing the "right arrow" or "left arrow" keys on the next screen. New menu options will appear below "JumperFree Configuration" when you set the new option.

4. Select "Overclock Options" and choose your overclock percentage by using the "right arrow" or "left arrow" key.

5. Press the "Esc" key twice to go to the "Exit" menu. Select "Save and Exit" by pressing the "down arrow" to highlight that option, and then press "Enter". The system will reboot.
