Overclock The Msi P43 Computer

Many motherboards built by MSI allow for easy overclocking of the CPU.

Micro-Star International, known more commonly as MSI, has a long and storied history of motherboard manufacturing, including being the company that introduced the concept of motherboards designed to overclock CPUs. This continued with the company's work with the P43 chipset from Intel, which was featured in a number of MSI's motherboards. Overclocking CPUs on these boards is a simple task, requiring you to only press a few buttons and possess some basic math skills.

Instructions

1. Power on your computer and press the "F6" function key to enter your BIOS when you see the splash screen with the MSI logo.

2. Enter the "Advanced BIOS Options" sub-menu by highlighting the option and pressing the "Enter" key. For most MSI motherboards, this will be the first option highlighted.

3. Navigate to the "Front Side Bus" option using the directional arrow keys on your keyboard. Once there, press "Enter" to go into edit mode and use the numerical keys to enter a new front side bus speed.

4. Press "ESC" to exit your "Advanced BIOS Options" submenu, and again to exit your BIOS. When prompted, press "Y" to save your settings and restart your PC.
