Determine The Number Of Cpus On A Server

The CPU processes commands for your computer.

Your Windows system configuration is available through the Device Manager console. This application is included in every version of the Windows operating system. Within this application, you can see how many central processing units (CPUs) are installed in the machine. This makes it easier for people who are unfamiliar with the inner workings of a computer and who cannot identify the CPU installed on the motherboard to find this information.

Instructions

1. Right-click the "My Computer" icon on your desktop. From the menu that pops up, select "Properties." This opens the system properties window for your computer.

2. Click the "Hardware" tab to view a list of options. In this window, click the "Device Manager" button to open a list of the pieces of hardware configured on your machine.

3. Click the "Processors" link. This expands a list of processors configured on the computer. The amount of processors listed is how many CPUs you have installed on the computer.
