The Asus K8V-X is a Socket 754 motherboard that uses the VIA K8T800 chipset and is compatible with AMD Athlon 54 and Sempron CPUs. External video cards plug into the USB ports on the Asus K8V-X motherboard through the exterior of the computer. They are a good alternative for those who do not feel comfortable cracking open a computer. However, they tend to be more expensive and less powerful than PCI or AGP video cards.
