Replace The Enter Button On An Acer Computer

You can replace a single key on a keyboard.

Replacing the entire keyboard on an Acer laptop computer is a relatively straightforward process, but there are times you may only need to replace a single key such as the "Enter" key. Even if you don't know much about computers or electronics you'll find that it's possible to replace a key on your Acer in a very short amount of time. And the best part is that you'll save quite a bit of money by not taking it into the shop.

Instructions

1. Turn off your Acer laptop and remove the AC power cable.

2. Slide the battery from its compartment on the underside of the computer.

3. Use the tip of your hobby knife or the ends of your tweezers to pull the "enter" key off of the keyboard from the side.

4. Turn the key over and use the end of your tweezers or tip of your hobby knife to pop the plastic black frame out of the key housing.

5. Fit the black frame over the plastic clip in the key space and gently press down until it snaps in place.

6. Fit the new "enter" key over the black frame and gently press down until it snaps in place.
