Reset a KBC BIOS Laptop
KBC is a developer of BIOS revisions--the basic operating system that recognizes and configures your hardware prior to booting up the computer. Resetting a laptop that contains a KBC BIOS is occasionally necessary where changes to the BIOS have rendered the operating system unstable or where you want to "reboot" the laptop to a default state after selling it to another owner. This is a simple process that can be completed in less than five minutes.
Instructions
1. Reset or reboot the laptop.
2. Press the key indicated during the startup messages to load the BIOS. This key is typically either "Esc" or one of the "F" keys, but it can vary, so pay attention.
3. Scroll through the BIOS options using the arrow keys until you find the setting to "Restore Factory Defaults," "Load BIOS Defaults," or something along those lines. Consult your laptop operating guide if you are having trouble locating it for your particular KBC BIOS revision.
4. Press "Enter" to reset the BIOS to default settings. Confirm your selection by pressing "Y," after which the computer will reset again.
