The Specs For Emachines

EMachines is a brand of budget PCs--netbooks, laptops, desktops and all-in-one computers--that is headquartered in Irvine, California. It is a subsidiary of China-based consumer electronics company Acer Inc.


System Specs


As of September 2010, eMachines PCs are based on the Microsoft Windows XP, Vista or 7 operating systems. Processors are from Intel or AMD, system memory range is 1 GB to 4 GB, and hard drive storage range is 160 GB to 750 GB.


Audio/Video


Apart from the netbook--a stripped-down, smaller version of a laptop--each eMachine PC has a CD/DVD combo drive with dual-layer support for playing and recording CDs and DVDs. Also, the computers have high-definition audio, and video/graphics capabilities are provided by integrated controllers or dedicated GPUs from Intel or Nvidia.


Networking and Connectivity


Each eMachine PC has an Ethernet network interface and Wi-Fi connectivity. Some of them also include a 56k fax/data modem.
