Overclock A Foxconn Motherboard

Overclocking allows you to push your hardware beyond the manufacturer's recommended limitations. Successfully overclocking your Foxconn motherboard can result in an increase in performance. A failed overclocking attempt can result in instability issues or permanent damage to the motherboard and/or its components. Before you overclock your Foxconn motherboard, you need to verify that your computer case is being cooled sufficiently, either by case fans or a water cooling unit. You can overclock the motherboard by accessing the BIOS.


Instructions


1. Restart your computer. When the splash screen (the first image that is shown after the beep) displays, press the "Delete" key to enter the BIOS. Instead of booting to the desktop, the BIOS (basic input/output system) will open.


2. Use the arrow keys to find the FSB (front side bus) speed adjustment controls. Select "Frequency/Voltage Control" from the BIOS main menu.


3. Set the "CPU FSB Frequency" (it may also be referred to as the Motherboard Clock). Select the frequency that is one notch above the default setting. Press the "ESC" button to return to the BIOS main menu. Select "PC Health." Set the "Protect CPU Overheating" option to "Enabled." Press the "F10" key to save the changes and restart the computer.


4. Use your computer as you normally would. Run applications and see if it remains stable and functional. If so, you should see a slight increase in intense applications such as 3D games and during HD video playback. If you encounter serious problems, return the BIOS to its default settings to avoid damaging your computer.
