Replace A Cd Drive In An Acer Laptop

Replacing a CD drive in an Acer laptop can be completed in just a few minutes. Occasionally, the CD drive might get damaged or you might want to update the drive to a newer model without replacing the entire laptop. The Acer CD drive can be changed out by removing just a few parts. You can replace the drive yourself and save the time and money of calling a computer technician do the work.


Instructions


1. Unplug the power cord of the Acer laptop from the electrical outlet before attempting to replace the CD drive. Remove the power supply cord from the back of the laptop computer.


2. Turn the laptop over so you are looking at the bottom of the case. Remove the battery pack by lifting the tab and setting the battery aside. Locate the CD drive and slide it open by hand.


3. Unfasten the screws that hold the drive to the laptop in the back of the case with a screwdriver. Remove the CD drive from the laptop by sliding it out of the bracket.


4. Replace the CD drive by installing a new CD drive in the bracket and fasten the screws with a screwdriver to secure the drive. Slide the new CD drive back into the case by hand.


5. Reattach the battery pack to the back of the laptop and connect the power supply cord into the computer. Plug the power cord of the Acer laptop into the electrical outlet.
