Overclock the Asus N50V to gain better processing performance.
The Asus N50V series of laptop computers is designed for students on the go. The overall performance of the Asus N50V, as with any computer, is determined by the speed of the processor and the settings of the motherboard. The faster the CPU operates and the faster the motherboard allows components to communicate, the faster the PC runs. Changing BIOS settings in the boot menu of the Asus N50V allows for overclocking the CPU and motherboard.
Instructions
1. Boot the Asus N50V series laptop. Press the "F11" key during startup and before the operating system loads to enter the boot setup menu. Select "BIOS" and press the "Enter" key.
2. Select the "Front Side Bus" option from the list and press the "Enter" key. Move through the "Front Side Bus" menu to the "Front Bus Speed" setting. Press "Enter" and raise the value to a setting above the default. Press "Enter" again to accept the changed setting. This modifies the front bus speed of the PC, granting faster speeds to the CPU and other components through the motherboard.
3. Press the "Esc" key to exit to the BIOS menu. Select "CPU Core" from the list and press "Enter." Navigate through the "CPU Core" menu to the "Multiplier" setting. Press "Enter" and raise the value by one. Press "Enter" again to confirm the increase. This raises the CPU's core multiplier.
4. Press the "Esc" key to exit to the BIOS menu. Select "Save and Exit" to exit the boot menu. Your laptop will continue to boot and the overclocked settings will be in effect.
