Reset The Cmos On An Msi K8t Neov Motherboard

The MSI K8T Neo-V is an ATX form factor motherboard that features an 800 MHz data bus speed, Realtek Ethernet adapter, four high-speed USB headers, DMI support, DDR SDRAM compatibility and ATA-133 as well as serial ATA-150 storage device interface connections. The integrated CMOS stores information regarding hard drive configuration, display settings, power management, memory configuration and other important settings relating to the components connected to the main board. Resetting the CMOS will change any custom configuration settings back to the default parameters.

Instructions

1. Disconnect your computer's peripheral accessories as well as the power supply cable from the rear of the machine.

2. Open your computer's case in order to expose the motherboard. Many computer cases can be opened by removing two or more thumbscrews located on the back of the chassis and sliding off the side panel. Refer to your particular computer case's documentation for instructions on open the computer case if you are unfamiliar with this process.

3. Remove the jumper cap located on pins "1" and "2" on the jumper labeled "JBAT1." The "JBAT1" jumper is located near the edge of the motherboard, behind the quarter-sized CMOS battery.

4. Insert the jumper cap over pins "2" and "3" for a few seconds, in order to clear the CMOS settings. Remove the jumper cap from pins "2" and "3."

5. Insert the jumper cap back onto pins "1" and "2" to complete the process. Replace the side panel on your computer chassis and reconnect the power cable as well as the peripheral accessories to the back of the computer.
