EMachines has manufactured consumer-grade desktop, laptop and netbook computers since the late-1990s. In 2007, eMachines was bought out, and it became a subsidiary of Acer, Inc. The W3650 desktop computer was released by eMachines in late 2007. It was marketed as a high-performance, general computing and entertainment system. The W3650 was discontinued in 2009.
Processor
The eMachines W3650 comes shipped with a 64-bit Intel Celeron 440 processor. This particular processor runs at a clock speed of more than 2GHz, and runs 1MB of built-in L2 cache memory. Additionally, the processor runs 800MHz from the chip's front-side bus. The computer's motherboard uses an Intel 945GC CPU chipset.
Memory
The computer comes installed with more than 1GB of 667MHz dual-channel DDR2 memory. The computer's motherboard has two memory slots, but only uses one memory slot that houses the single stick of DDR2 RAM. The W3650 can be expanded to run up to 2GB of memory.
Optical and Hard Disk Drives
The W3650 comes installed with a 160GB SATA II hard drive that runs at 7,200 RPMs. The drive can run 8MB of cache memory that aids in the drive's overall performance. The eMachines computer can run a SATA hard drive as large as 320GB. Additionally, the desktop comes with a CD/DVD R/RW drive.
Graphics
The desktop comes installed with an Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 graphics card. This particular card can use up to 225MB of shared video memory or VRAM.
