Identify My Sis Graphics Card Type

Computers aimed at casual users or office environments tend to come with integrated graphics cards. These cards are perfectly acceptable devices for displaying things like web pages and spreadsheets. They are not very good gaming cards, though, since they struggle to maintain an acceptable frame rate in most games. If you have an integrated graphics card, such as one made by the SiS company, you may want to know what version it is. This can be helpful when updating your graphics software, since it can improve system stability by fixing bugs and improving compatibility with other hardware.

Instructions

1. Right-click "My Computer" from the desktop. A context menu pops up.

2. Select "Properties" from the context menu. A window labeled "System Properties" appears.

3. Select the "Hardware" tab from the "System Properties" window.

4. Click on the "Device Manager" button. The "Device Manager" appears.

5. Click the plus sign to the left of "Display Adapter". A sub-menu unfolds and reveals your graphics card name. This name reveals the type and manufacturer of your graphics card.
