Convert A Read Only Pdf To Entry

Any user with Adobe Reader 8 or newer can enter data into fillable PDF forms.

Adobe's PDF file type is among the most popular document standards for business and personal use. While most PDF documents can only be read by users of the free Adobe Reader program, Adobe Acrobat users can turn their read-only PDF documents into forms with fillable fields. Acrobat can automatically turn your PDF document into a fillable form, and then you can manually edit the form to your specifications.

Instructions

1. Run the Adobe Acrobat application and open the read-only PDF document that you wish to convert into a fillable form.

2. Click "File" in the menu bar, then click "Create" and "PDF Form."

3. Click the radio button next to "Use Current Document" and click Next. Adobe Acrobat Pro will process the document and will automatically detect fields for entering information and change them into fillable fields. Once conversion is complete, Acrobat will automatically enter into form editing mode and open the Forms toolbar.

4. Right-click on a fillable field to open a menu from which you can edit the field. From this menu you can choose to delete a fillable field that Adobe Acrobat Pro has created in an incorrect location. You can also choose to copy or cut the field and paste it into another location in the document.

5. Right-click a fillable field and click Properties to change the appearance or properties of the field. You can change the field's text size, orientation, text format, alignment and appearance from the ensuing properties window. You can also check the "Required" box if you wish to indicate that a field is required for the form to be saved or printed.

6. Click "Tasks" in the Form toolbar and click "Add New Field."

7. Click on the location in your form where you wish to add the field and drag to create a rectangular field box. You can click on the corner of the field and drag if you want to resize the field after you create it.

8. Click the "Close Form Editing" button on the Forms toolbar when you are done editing the form.

9. Click "File" in the menu bar. Click "Save As," then click "Reader Extended PDF" and "Enable Additional Features." Doing so will save the your PDF form such that it can be filled in and saved by any Adobe Reader user.
