Troubleshoot A Roland Fantomx6

Learn to fix the Roland Fantom-X6.


If you are attempting to troubleshoot the Roland Fantom X6, learn configure and diagnose the machine. Common problems such as power failure, sound issues and data hard drive complications may arise when using the Fantom X6. To troubleshoot the issue with the keyboard, test and configure the machine sampling effects and sound settings.


Instructions


1. Power on the keyboard. If it doesn't power on, check the AC connection located on the rear of the keyboard. Power failure may be a sign of a defective AC cable or internal damage to the machine hard drive.


2. Play selected keys to test if you hear any sound from the keyboard. If no sound is played, adjust the "Master Level" knob and ensure that it is not turned down low. Plug in headphones or turn the volume up on the speakers as you play the keyboard to check the sound. If you still don't hear any sound, ensure that the "Local Switch" function is turned off. Ensure that the "Tone Switch" function is illuminated. Ensure the "Hold" pad isn't lit up, if the sound plays and turns off.


3. Check the effects generator by ensure all of the "MFX," "CHO," "REV" or "Master" buttons are lit up on the left hand side of the keyboard. If you are using "Patches," select the "Matrix Control" when sending MIDI messages to external equipment.


4. Insert the memory card into the keyboard and select a "patch" or song to play. If the memory card does not load, ensure that it is formatted correctly and inserted all the way in. Run the on-screen format wizard to format the disc.
