You can play sound from multiple devices at the same time on your computer.
Some computers come with an HDMI input. This allows you to send high-definition audio and video signals to your computer directly through a single HDMI cable. However, a sound card still is installed on the system, which has a "Line-In" connection port. With equipment hooked up to this connection, you can listen to both the sound card and the HDMI input at the same time.
Instructions
1. Plug the HDMI cable into the "HDMI Out" port on the high-definition device you want connected to the computer system.
2. Plug the 3.5mm cable running out of a microphone (or other audio input device) into the "Line-In" port on the computer system.
3. Turn on the microphone and the HD device. The audio from both hardware plays over the computer's speaker system.
