nVidia states that the GeForce 8600 series was "designed for performance for Microsoft DirectX 9 and DirectX 10 games." As a Windows-based card, the GeForce 8600 requires a Windows operating system; either Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7. Your PC must be able to supply at least 300-watts of power to the card.
