EMachines, founded in 1998, produces budget-friendly desktop PCs, netbooks and notebooks. Gateway acquired the company in 2004. In 2007, Acer purchased Gateway thus acquiring eMachines. According to eMachines, the company has shipped over five million eMachines computers, netbooks and notebooks since inception. The eMachines W3650 is a personal computer that allows users to surf the Web, check e-mail and perform other tasks. The system does not come with a monitor.

The system measures 14.5 inches in height, 7.2 inches in width and 16.1 inches in depth. The eMachine W3650 weighs about 21.5 pounds.
Processor Information
The eMachine W3650 features an Intel Celeron 440 processor running at 2 GHz. It has a 1 MB L2 cache and an 800 MHz front side bus. The system uses an Intel 945GC chipset.
Memory and Drive Devices
The computer comes with 1024 MB of 667 MHz DDR2 dual-channel memory and it can accept up to 2 GB of memory. The W3650 has two DDR2 slots with only one in use. A 7200 rpm 160 GB SATA II hard drive with an 8 MB cache is included with the system. In addition, the eMachines W3650 comes with a 16x DVD (+/-) R/RW SuperMulti drive.
Audio, Video and Ports
The eMachines W3650 has a 6-channel 5.1 high-definition audio card and uses an Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950 video card. The video card uses up to 224 MB of shared video memory. The W3650 comes with six USB ports located on the front and rear panels. It also has 12 other ports including a VGA, a serial, a parallel and two PS/2 ports.
Other Features
The peripherals included with the desktop are a 2-button wheel mouse, a multifunction keyboard and amplified stereo speakers that are USB powered. The W3650 has a 56k ITU fax/modem and 10/100 megabits per second Ethernet LAN connection. The operating system is Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition and the system comes with Microsoft Works 9.0. Other digital media and entertainment software comes installed on the machine.
