Use an Asus Smart Fan
Asus Smart Fan is an intelligent fan control system used by Asus graphics cards that use a GPU (graphics processing unit) cooling fan. This system is designed to reduce unnecessary fan noise while still making sure that the graphics card does not overheat and become damaged. Asus Smart Fan can turn the fan on automatically when the GPU starts to become hot, and it increases or decreases the speed as the temperature rises or falls.
Instructions
1. Start or restart your computer. You cannot access the fan settings while the operating system is loaded.
2. Press the appropriate key to load the BIOS setup utility. This will normally be the "Del" key for most Asus motherboards, however a few use "Ins." Press this every few second while the computer is first loading until the BIOS menu opens.
3. Use the arrow keys to change the highlighted option to "Advanced" and then press "Enter" to select this option.
4. Locate the "Fan Settings" section and select "Asus Smart Fan Control."
5. Make sure that "Smart Fan Control" is enabled. There will be a variety of settings listed under this heading.
6. Use the "Fan Low Temperature" to set how hot the GPU needs to be before the cooling fan turns on. Use the "Fan High Temperature" to set how hot the GPU needs to be for the fan to be running at maximum speed.
7. Use the "Fan High Voltage" and "Fan Low Voltage" options to set the fans maximum and minimum speeds. (The voltage that the fan receives determines its speed.)
8. Press "F10" to save the current setup and exit the BIOS utility. Your computer will reboot; the new Asus Smart Fan settings will take effect automatically.
