Reset The Emachines T2245 Bios & Remove The Battery

The eMachines T2245 computer is a budget computer that comes with all the essentials of a well rounded desktop computer. Included in every computer is a BIOS system that controls how the computer uses its hardware. You can change the settings of the BIOS system to make the computer run faster, but you run the risk of frying the motherboard of the computer. In order to change the settings back, you need to access to the BIOS menu again. If you cannot get into the BIOS menu, you can remove the BIOS battery and reset it that way.

Instructions

1. Power down your eMachines T2245 computer.

2. Pull the power cable out of the rear of the computer tower to prevent any power being sent to the computer while it is open.

3. Remove the four screws from the back of the computer tower and slide the cover off of the tower. You will now be able to see the motherboard.

4. Locate the silver battery on the motherboard next to the three RAM slots. Pry the battery up and out of the motherboard. Do not touch the motherboard while doing this.

5. Hold the computer power button in without any power cable connected and the BIOS battery out for 30 seconds. This will recycle the BIOS and drain any excess power. Leave the BIOS battery out of the motherboard for 30 minutes and the BIOS settings will be reset.
