Reset Geforce 7000m

The GeForce 7000M is a video card from the Nvidia video card company. If this video card malfunctions, it may go into a standby mode that requires you to reset the video card before you may use it again. The standby mode is used to help protect the video card against damage if something inside the card is malfunctioning. With access to your computer, resetting the card isn't a difficult process.

Instructions

1. Shut down your computer and remove the power cable to prevent any damage or injury from electrical discharge.

2. Open the case of the computer. This sometimes requires a screwdriver, but it depends on your individual computer.

3. Locate the GeForce 7000M in the lower left quadrant of the inside of the computer.

4. Pull out the power cable going to the GeForce 7000M and disconnect the small cable that is attached to the very end of the card to discharge its internal electrical charge and reset the card.

5. Replace the two cables, close the case of the computer, plug your computer in and turn it back on.
