Wire A Bestec Atx30012e Standard Atx

The power supply is a component inside a computer that manages the power input for the system. The Bestec ATX-300-12E is a 300-watt ATX power supply compatible with many Compaq and eMachine computers. The power supply comes with several cables that must be properly wired to ensure that all the components inside the computer are powered.

Instructions

1. Connect the ATX 20 pin main connector to the ATX 20 pin port on your motherboard. Refer to your computer's owner's manual for the exact location of this port and the others you will need to connect cables to, if you are unsure. This cable will power the motherboard and all the components connected to it.

2. Connect the 12V P4 connector to the ATX 12V port on your motherboard. Generally, this cable is used to power the computer's CPU.

3. Connect the 4 pin IDE cable to an IDE peripheral. Common peripherals that use IDE connections include hard drives, graphics cards and CD drives.

4. Connect the 4 pin floppy connector to the 3.5 inch floppy drive, if you have one.
