Overclock A Mobile Intel 945pm Express Chipset Ich7m

Boost your laptop's performance with an overclocked Mobile Intel 945PM Express Chipset.

The Mobile Intel 945PM Express Chipset is commonly used in laptop computers. A chipset is a component that controls the flow of important data through the motherboard. The faster the chipset allows the flow of data to become, the faster certain components such as the central processing unit run. Overclocking the chipset allows the laptop to operate faster by increasing motherboard and CPU speeds. You must change the BIOS settings in the laptop's boot menu to overclock the Mobile Intel 945PM Express Chipset.

Instructions

1. Boot the laptop containing the Intel 945PM Express Chipset. Press and hold the laptop's "Esc" key to enter the boot menu. Select "BIOS" from the list of submenus and hit "Enter."

2. Select "Front Bus" or "External Bus" from the BIOS submenu. Locate the option called "Front Bus Speed" and hit "Enter." Change the value to any value above the default and hit "Enter." This change speeds up the chipset's front bus, which allows the CPU to run faster. Back out to the main portion of the BIOS sub menu.

3. Select "CPU Core" or "CPU" from the BIOS submenu. Locate the option called "Multiplier" and hit "Enter." Change the value to the entry one above the default and hit "Enter" to raise the chipset's multiplier value.

4. Exit to the boot menu. Press the "Save and Apply Changes" option. Press the "Exit" option.
