Use Core 2 Duo

The Core 2 Duo is a dual-core processor that can be installed into any compatible computer. Many people prefer it because its two cores allow the computer to run more quickly and smoothly than a single core processor. If you want your computer to use an Intel Core 2 Duo processor, it is as simple as installing it into the case yourself.


Instructions


1. Disassemble your computer according to its documentation. Every case and assembly is different.


2. Push the socket arm up and over to the other side of the case. Lift the socket lever up.


3. Lift the protective cover and set it aside for safekeeping. Do not discard it.


4. Lift the processor out of its case by the edges.


5. Align the processor over the socket in your computer. Allow it to fall into the socket. Do not force it.


6. Close the cover over the processor and lock the socket arm back to its original position.


7. Install the fan assembly on top the processor per the processor documentation.


8. Reassemble your computer according to its documentation.
